L- I was always recipes for college students comfortable owning up to being an artist. recipes for college students In the back of my head, I think my goals were always recipes for college students in art. My dad had a lot to do with that. He is an artist, so I grew up in a house where creativity was supported and encouraged. When someone asks me what I do I tell them I paint and draw all the time. If I want to sounds astute I add sometimes I get commissions as an illustrator.
TF- Do you feel it empowered you? Like, your dad did it so you had a model for what an artist does? cause no one in my family does art, so going to film school I was kind of nervous cause I’m like, am I crazy? Should I just go to business school? You know what I mean?
L- recipes for college students A few other people and I were more focused and took it a little more seriously. Everyone else just wanted an easy A and would doodle some shit in ten minutes. recipes for college students My teacher was a real nice guy though, so he never called recipes for college students anyone out.
L- I had none. No idea. I liked physics and english a lot in high school, but I could never get serious about those. recipes for college students I really like to play music. I use art to escape the world and music to escape art. So I guess, that would be the next best thing. I don’t know, I guess at the time I really didn’t care where I went. I knew I needed to go somewhere, SCAD accepted me, gave me some scholarship money, so I just went to Savannah. I hadn’t visited or anything, I just threw myself in.
TF- So when you got to SCAD, what was your impression of SCAD from the onset? What did you think of Savannah? Cause when I got here I hadn’t visited before I came here, I just looked through recipes for college students the brochures and when I got here I was like, oh God what have I done? Savannah is crazy. recipes for college students
L- I didn’t know what to think really. I didn t have any expectations. The first thing I did was get lost on my bike. Initially I was surprised by how one street recipes for college students would be really fancy and swanky and the next could be completely run down. I had never been exposed to gentrification so that was a bit of a shock.
L- recipes for college students I don’t know if I have one of those. In all honesty, I feel like I do crazier things in my hometown. My friends and I kill and eat rattle snacks, play dungeons and dragons, throw Molotov cocktails behind Safeway. It s so boring recipes for college students there that you have to get real creative recipes for college students to have any fun. Here it s different because fun is everywhere so you don t have to go crazy.
L- I feel like everyone I ve met here is cool and intriguing. There s always something going on in Savannah recipes for college students to get those interesting people together and extraordinary things come out of that. You just get used to it after a while. You get used to not being bored. You get used to finding new things all the time.
L- I feel like the people here really make it different. Savannah has this really laidback attitude that I haven t found anywhere else. I get pissed off a lot and walk around to mellow out. In other places I go out of the way to avoid people, but in Savannah it s usually the people that cheer me up the best. Everyone, regardless of if they re a student or not, is just down to chill, tell stories, recipes for college students joke around, whatever. It s way cool.
L- I didn’t visit anywhere else. I expected there to be a lot more art school bullshit. Whenever I talk with my friends from high school about their college art courses, or my friend going to another art school, there seems to be a lot of bullshit. You know, literally putting garbage on the wall. Everyone here is dedicated and involved in what they do. There isn t any pube art.
L- recipes for college students The reason why I ve always done art is because it s one of the few ways I could turn my brain off. My mom always tells me that when I was little recipes for college students I told her that when I draw everything else disappears. It s still like that, that s the first reason I do it. It s so therapeutic and relaxing for me. Humor is my biggest motivator though. I feel the most satisfied with what I m doing if I laugh while I m making it. I get so stoked to show my friends and see them laugh too. It gets me super pumped. Making people laugh has always been crucial to me. Like in school, if I didn t tell a joke or throw pencils at the substitutes butt I felt isolated and unhappy. Right now I m making art for people like I was in high school. There were a lot of times where I tried to be cool and completely fell flat. Sometimes I was really scared about how I was perceived. Everyone on the covers of these records are trying to look cool, alluring, and putting on this act, so by fucking with them I m saying it s cool to be ugly and weird if that s what you are. Just be yourself. It s really fun to desecrate other people s artifacts too.
L- I like explaining it like that because old records have this value attached to them since they are so old. Some people cherish them just for being records. No matter who it is though, whether recipes for college students it s Michael Jackson or some unknown artist, someone
