Last October, I met Karen in Bordeaux and Petra, who came with Olivier promote Oregon and Portland from travel agencies. To me they all three have so far sold Oregon I had wanted to go faster. But until this visit I peeled the guides they had given me, savoring Teas home teamaker Steven Smith who had already left me a very good impression.
And then, when Laura prepared me my stay there and found me something to occupy me on Portland. When she asked me if I had discovered ideas, I already had an idea: go to Steven Smith Tea Maker to discover this small house of tea that produces high quality teas sold throughout the United UNite and even elsewhere, but unfortunately not yet in France (Sophie, I need you !!!).
So after a lunch break with Breet to Food Carts Portland, I met Karen for a visit to the home of Steven Smith Tea teamaker. As a big fan of tea I was thrilled to be there. Amy, sales director, sweet wise told us the company's history and how Steven Smith got there.
In fact, Steven Smith teamaker is the 3rd house Tea, the second being well known in the United States is Tazo. Suffice to say that he knows his teas! Having sweet wise sold at Starbucks Coffee Tazo in the mid 90s, he took a few years for him and his family in France but the urge to fall back into a cup of tea was quickly back to him. It is therefore left to Portland to go up, with old home Tazo, Steven Smith teamaker in the trendy area of Pearl District, an industrial area very sore & trendy.
Today they are barely thirty to work in society. The idea here is to make the quality and not the quantity. Already the tools they do not allow it, they just want to do what they do. Everything done on Portland, both tasting mixtures but also the packaging in individual bags. Steven sweet wise Smith brings sweet wise a great interest in the origin of the teas he buys and provides full traceability of its products. sweet wise The range of tea contains about fifteen references, both white teas, green or black as well as "herbals teas" scented infusions and with a code on the boxes can be to know where teas making a p'tite search on their website, with the lot number. I tested it's great
We cross the tearoom shop, walk past the room where teas are packed to go in the tasting room. There I met Tony, the right arm of Steven Smith to me
